Anaheim
CA, December 10, 2001 -
WebcastingTV announced today, at the Streaming Media East conference,
the release of their V-Button Player Detection System 4.0. "This
release brings us very close to the dream of universal media compatibility
that all consumers wish for," says Tim Yale, President and COO
of WebcastingTV, Inc., the industry leader for The V-Button Player Detection System automatically configures the stream to specifications compatible with that user’s computer. "We have taken this concept way beyond anyone else with this latest development," says Yale. "This means that any user with either Windows Media Player, RealVideo Player, or a QuickTime Media Player installed can see any of the V-Button programs without having to test or configure their system." The V-Button Player Detection System determines the best player software, Internet connection speed, and firewall security settings in order to deliver the requested content. "What surprises most users is how fast it accomplishes these tasks," adds Yale. The application for this technology reaches beyond the venue of Internet directories such as YellowPages.com. This makes it practical to integrate streaming content into catalogs and corporate websites. "This technology is easy to implement, but reaching every business advertiser in the country is a momentous task," says Yale. "Until now, we have concentrated our distribution within resellers who have 'feet-on-the-street' sales forces.” Internet Yellow Page (IYP) publishers already have the sales force and Internet venue to utilize a streaming advertisement. "But with this development, individual webmasters can embed video into a page and not worry about media format compatibility or player implementation requirements," Yale adds. The V-Button Universal
Player can be embedded in a page, spawn a pop-up window, or fill the
whole screen. It can be "skinned" with the website's own
custom "look," and it contains no links to other web sites.
"One of the things that our customers have always liked about
the V-Button, is that it does not try to get the user to look somewhere
else," says Yale. "The V-Button player does not have links
to anyone else’s media, or Internet venue, so you won't have a billboard
for someone else within your site." That is one of the reasons
why the WebcastingTV's V-Button technology is revolutionary, but their unique approach to creating the programs makes video production affordable to any business. "Our local Directors, with the support of our online Production Management System (the PMS) can create an up-to-three-minute program in a matter of days," says Yale. "We have designed a program format that is perfectly suited to the limitations of streaming and appropriate for a presentation in Internet Yellow Page directories." The speed and simplicity of the production make the program affordable.
