Anaheim,
California, June 15, 2001.
– WebcastingTV announced today the release of the third generation
of their V-Button Universal Player.
“The new V-Button Player is much more intuitive for an Internet
user to navigate,” says Burt Yale, CEO of WebcastingTV.com, Inc.
The V-Button Universal Players keeps track of the media
preferences (Windows Media, RealPlayer, or QuickTime) of each user, and
then serves the V-Button clip in the format they prefer. WebcastingTV’s
V-Button Service creates and streams online video commercials for Internet
directories such as YellowPages.com, InformationPages.com, and
approximately 22 other regional online yellow page publishers.
WebcastingTV is the exclusive provider for all streaming video
services of these publishers, and has production resources in 44 of the
top 100 markets. “We are
currently contracted by publisher in 27 states, and are expecting to be
in all 50 states, and top 100 markets, by second quarter 2002,” says
Burt Yale. The
new release version of the V-Button Universal Player incorporates a much
more sophisticated approach to player “aggregation.”
This refers to the process an end user follows to select, test,
verify, and if necessary install, one of the compatible streaming
software applications. “Market
data states that approximately 80% of the Internet users have one of the
major streaming software applications already installed.
We simply help them find the best choice for them, test it, and
then store the selection so that they never have to go through the
player selection process again,” according to Burt Yale, CEO of
WebcastingTV. To
test the new V-Button player selection process, click on this link http://www.v-button.com
in order to take you to the V-Button Examples page. Then,
select one of the V-Button programs. If
you go straight to the video, then your player has already been
configured, so if you would like to check out the revised player
selection process, press the “change player” button. More
