Anaheim, California, October 1, 2001 - WebcastingTV announced today the availability of a new and powerful feature for their V-Button Universal Video Player. "Now V-Button customers can brand their V-Button player with a custom skin," said Tim Yale, COO of WebcastingTV, "and where ever that V-Button is placed, it will reflect the branding of the customer, or the reseller." For example, when SunShine Pages, a regional Internet Yellow Page publisher, sells a V-Button program to one of their listing customers (say, Ambrosia Bakery in Baton Rouge), they let the customer put a link to that V-Button on their website. So, when visitors to Ambrosia's site play the V-Button, they see the SunShine Pages branded skin.
This new V-Button feature is the first of a series of new capabilities which will be integrated into WebcastingTV's patent pending technology. "Customers have been very receptive to this feature," says Tim Yale, COO of WebcastingTV. "They are using it to match the art direction of the V-Button to the other parts of their website, so that the V-Button looks just like it came from their designers." Some of the Publisher-resellers of the V-Button are using a "sponsored" skin to unite patrons or fans of a common interest. For example, SunShine Pages is selling a LSU (Louisiana State University) branded skin as a mechanism to let advertisers show their support for the popular local university. "We expect this unique feature to help V-Button users spread the value of their V-Button investment over more venues," comments Tim Yale. "The more places it appears, the more promotion it can provide to the organization that determines the V-Button's skin." Usually, the skin is determined by the group that sells the program. It is not unusual for a V-Button reseller, such as UseTheExperts.com, to allow the placement of the same V-Button program in YellowPages.com. Of course, in YellowPages.com, the V-Button skin is branded with UseTheExperts.com. Everyone benefits from the exposure, and whoever sells the initial V-Button can determine the branding.
