WebcastingTV Welcomes the New Federal Anti-SPAM Law

Anaheim, January 2, 2004 /PRNewswire/ -- WebcastingTV, a leader in multi-platform, multi-channel Web streaming services, provides email broadcasting services for business customers. "We think that the new federal law regarding SPAM will help to cut down on the tidal wave of annoying emails, and leave more room for legitimate businesses to communicate with their customers," says Burt Yale, CEO of WebcastingTV. "Our customers use the EMS (Email Management System) to communicate with their customers via email, and anything that will cut down on unwanted email traffic is good for WebcastingTV."

The EMS is a browser-based email broadcast and management system. Within the system are utilities to construct html email pages then broadcast them to a list of email addresses. The EMS campaigns are designed to deliver V-Button videos, but can be used for conventional email campaigns also. The EMS has a reporting section that enables the sender to monitor the recipient's actions in real-time.

The newly enacted CAN-SPAM federal law, which went into effect January 1, 2004, is legislation designed to control the misuse of email. This new law defines a broad range of common email practices as Commercial Electronic Mail Messages, or CEMM. Businesses must conform to specific practices when sending an advertisement via email. WebcastingTV's Email Management System, the EMS, meets all the requirement of the new statute.

The EMS automatically inserts the federally required information into every email sent. Each recipient of emails from the EMS has three different ways to unsubscribe from future mailings. There is a link which automatically places that email address on a "blocked" list. There is an 800 number to call. Finally, there is a postal address where recipients can mail an unsubscribe request. WebcastingTV's anti-spam policy strictly forbids EMS users from sending large broadcasts without appropriate recipient relationships. You can review WebcastingTV's anti-spam policy at: http://vbuttons.com/ec/privacy_policy.html.

"There's no denying the power of video to deliver information faster, more effectively, and to integrate it into an email improves the effectiveness of any email campaign," said Tim Yale, president of WebcastingTV. Users of the EMS report a higher frequency of recipient response when a video is included in the campaign. Statistic on the effectiveness of the EMS are available on WebcastingTV's website at http://webcastingtv.com/research/email_research.html.

WebcastingTV has several levels of the EMS. The Basic EMS system let's V-Button customers email a copy of their video to individual recipients. The Standard EMS system enables V-Button customers to build HTML email campaign, and send them in three different ways. The Profession EMS system enables V-Button customers to have multiple-users and multiple-campaigns. It can report on the effectiveness of each user and enable managers to supervise the progress of their group.
