Mesh
plugs work best when the surrounding walls of tissue come in direct contact
with a smooth wall of highly compliant mesh support material. Unlike
other pre-shaped plugs, the Atrium Self-Forming Plug’s innovative,
self-expanding design maximizes surface contact and better conforms to the
size and shape of the defect to fill the defect completely. Shape is everything! |

Atrium's
advanced polypropylene mesh is a smooth wall surgical mesh, composed of
ultrapure, Polypropylene Monofilaments, known for their biological inertness
and high tensile strength. The pore size of Atrium's Polypropylene Surgical
Mesh optimizes the mechanical attachment of fibrous tissue
ingrowth. In addition, the knit structure chosen for Atrium
polypropylene surgical mesh has a significantly lower profile that makes the
surgical mesh more conformable, easier to handle and ultimately more
comfortable for the patient. Atrium's mesh is 30% thinner, noticeably
smoother, and easier to position than other higher profile polypropylene mesh
products. |
